Road Trip 2012

1st Stop: Saguaro National Park
"Where the cactus needles are bigger than Brannon"
(really the first stop was The Thing "where even your lowest expectations will be far surpassed" but I didn't want to post that picture and ruin the experience for those that will travel west along I10 in the future!

It's hard to see but there are a million Saguaros below us
2nd Stop: Sequoia National Park "Where the roads are windier  than the trees are tall"
 Future Ranger Brannon
Those teeny tiny dots are Jewels, Brannon, and I
The Grandaddy of the Forst: General Sherman
Brannon: Tamer of Wild Beasts
3rd Stop: Bob's Big Boy "Where Big Boys go to dine"
Weak I know, but there wasn't really anything that really stood out about this place. It was like Jim's.
4th Stop: Santa Monica Pier "Where the waters as cold as the people weird/eccentric"
Brannon and Jewles' first dip into the Pacific
 Brannon loved eating the sand
And the best part of the trip... we got to see Marie!
We were just walking along the peir and there she was! No just kidding she and her husband moved down there a week ago

Stop 5: Randy's Donuts "Where the donuts are worth the drive"
You can tell Brannon was excited about the Donuts!
Stop 6: The Robotic Dinosaur Museum "Where dinos aren't dead (but you can pretend to be!)"

Brannon in the clutches of a TRex
 Brannon hatching from a Brontasours

 Panning for gold with Jammie
Man- those TRex's were out to get Brannon!
They almost did- Jewels, Brannon, and I in the mouth of a TRex
Stop 6: Watts Towers "Where one man's junk is another man's treasure"
Stop 7: Integratron (pronounced in- teg- ra- tron) "Where aliens go to relax"
I was super bummed that my mom and Jewles wouldn't pay 40 bucks each to recharge their batteries in the stop where aliens contacted the architect and gave the specs for the rejuvanating sound baths! I wasn't even able to get a CD!

Brannon living it up in the hotels!
Stop 8: Joshua Tree National Park "Where Dr. Suess gets his inspiration"

Stop 9: Tramway "Where you can scale a mountian in 5 minutes"
We went all the way through Joshua National Park without me taking a picture of a Joshua Tree. We thought we had seen them along I10 so we kept going. We never saw one. So we backtracked on I10. All the way back to the dinosaurs. And no Joshua Tree! Even though Jewels wanted to kill me we had an incredible experience going to the top of a mountain in a tram (really a gandula).

Final Stop: Balmahrea "Where the west can be proud"

3650 miles later...
Brannon was glad to be home (and out of his car seat!)

  1. It looks like you are all having a great time! He's so cute and I think his Jammie kind of likes him. :)
